 Fine Art Prints 

Art by Douglas Carr fine art prints are produced on Canson acid-free fine art paper prized by professional artists, galleries, and museums for its archival quality and the direct, unfiltered access it gives viewers to every detail and composition (or a similar Canson fine art acid free paper)

This premium fine art paper delivers exceptional sharpness with rich, accurate colour rendering. Its subtly glossy, luxurious surface produces deep, intense blacks and vivid colour — ideal for both bold contemporary work and classic black-and-white photography. Pigment inkjet printing elegantly enhances the vibrancy of every fine art print, while the acid-free composition ensures your artwork resists yellowing and fading for generations.

The flexibility and lightness of the fine art print allows it to be displayed in a variety of ways — whether suspended as a poster or presented in a custom frame, each print can be styled to suit any interior.

Editions & Signatures

All artworks are produced as limited editions and come with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Edition sizes per artwork are shown in the table above.

A small number of earlier artworks, already produced and sold at 32×48 cm, continue under their original edition of 300 — these are noted individually on the relevant product page.

Prints sold directly through Art by Douglas Carr carry a digital signature as part of the artwork, along with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Genuine hand-signed prints are currently only available through selected representing galleries — see our Exhibitions page for where to find them.

Sizes & Aspect Ratios

Each artwork is composed by Douglas Carr in the aspect ratio that best suits the piece — typically 3:2 (e.g. 90 x 60 cm), 4:3, or square 1:1 formats (100 x 100 cm). Where possible, sizes are matched to standard frame dimensions — including A3+ (32×48 cm) — making it simple to find a ready-made frame, while larger formats remain available for statement pieces.

All prints come with a 2.5 cm or 3.5 cm white margin around the image. Prints can be framed with or without a mat, although Art by Douglas Carr recommends consulting a professional framer and using anti-reflective, UV-protected art glass to enhance and protect the artwork.

Hanging Guide

• To hang your fine art photography wall print set out from the wall, if it is unframed, a 20 mm-wide rectangular frame is placed at the back of the plate to rigidify the structure. Use the right type of screws and wall plugs according to the wall material. Messure the distance between the two hanging notches and place two screws with wall plugs level in the wall On the sides of the frame, two notches allow the artwork to be hung directly using X hooks. At the centre of this frame, the certificate is attached, including a description of the artwork, and the number of the print.

Safety Warning

The fixation material must be adapted to the type of wall and the weight of each limited edition fine art wall print. Mounting does not guarantee permanent attachment to the wall – it may accidentally become unhooked. Do not hang the photograph at child’s height or in a place where accidental fall could cause bodily harm (for instance: above a bed).

Maintenance Guide

ALUMINIUM MOUNTS: Clean the surface with a dry microfibre rag.

SHADOW GAP FRAME :

• For the aluminium surface, clean with a dry microfibre cloth
• For the plexiglass surface, clean with 70° pure alcohol and a microfibre cloth.
• For the wooden frame, clean with a a dry microfibre cloth.
